Few kids made thank you card for the BalaBharati shikshikas.
Children were told about the significance of peepal tree and it's leaves.They were taught to wrote pranam on the leaf and give it their parents -their first Guru.

Special activity in last week of the month (as in August YOJANA) :
The special activity of August is how helping kids to experience the relationship with neighbours and know what role our neighbours play in our life? How they share our happy moments and not so happy moments? Shikshikas shall introduce the topic may also wants to talk about interesting things in our BB neighbourhood, like gardens, any famous temple, statue, personality, market etc. Parents shall be invited and BB kids can make a craft Namaste Ji cards (2-10) from this months magazine, try and visit our neighbours, greet them with Namaste, give them our beautiful card, introduce yourself, and also invite them to our BB. Kids can note down in a diary, their experience of meeting neighbour’s and narrate them in the special BB. Kids can have a healthy competition between them to visit as many neighbour’s as possible. Please encourage parents also to share their feeling about this activity, how kids prepared and how they felt after meeting/greeting their neighbours. Let’s remember to give more curiosity than the knowledge/Information to our kids!
It can be made as a game also by asking kids to tell how many neighbours they greeted and said Namaste, and kids should be able to tell about them ( a simple INTRO) to other kids, like, telling a good thing about them, or a skill that they have which they can teach to all kids.
News and events:
- New Balabharati has started in Rainbow drive layout on Sarjapur road ( HSR Khand )
- Concorde Manhattan BB team with active support from welfare association and Balabharati well wishers conducted a special Yoga session for domestic help persons ( maids) and house keeping staff. Many Balabharati kids' parents, particularly mothers, actively involved in organizing the event. Yoga session was conducted with 90+ persons participating. Stationary and snacks were distributed by mothers to all the participants.
- Acas Crescent BB in Gottigere has been regularly making use of the FUN science activity to inculcate scientific temper in kids. Once in a while they involve the elder class girls in the apartment to demonstrate science experiment to kids. It could be a way to generate interest in them to have a separate activity for kishoris ( teenage girls ) also.
- Royal hermitage BB in Arakere Khand ( Gottigere ) conducted a special Gurupurnima celebration. Few teachers and all parents were invited. There was a chart/picture demonstration and explanation by shikshika of various Guru/Shishya mahapurush personalities like Sri Ramakrishna and Swami Vivekananda.
- Craft activity is regularly conducted in Sarovar Balabharati.
- SNN Niladri BB and Concorde BB in EC Khand conducted Raakhi ( Rakshe ) making activity for Balabharati kids.

Special activity in last week of the month ( July ) :
For June, the special activity conducted in the last week of the month is about RIVERS. Elders from the apartment can be called to narrate to the children their experience with life in village, their association with Rivers, how we worship and care for them. They can teach the shloka "Gange cha yamune chai va" to kids. Persons from different states can be called so that children can listen about multiple rivers.
News and events from centers:
- New Balabharati has started in Alpine Eco apartment, Doddanekkundi ( Near Maratahalli) Kundalahalli Khand
- New Balabharati started in Saptagiri apartment, Munnekolala, Kundalahalli khand
- NGV and ST Bed BB of Koramangala had arranged a trip ( sahal ) to Lalbagh. 9 families participated. Several toher families who were watching the Balabharati kids play came and enquired and joined the group, learnt about Balabharati and showed interest to involve.
- The shikshika teams meetings were held at 3 places in the city on July 1/2 week end. Over 90 shikshikas and several shikshaks and supporting karyakartas participated. All centers shared their experiences, and also challenges and ways to overcome them and strengthen the Balabharati process.
- In the shikshika teams baithak, many shikshikas shared experience of conducting summer camps. Prior to that, around the month of March 2017, we had sent an email asking shikshikas and parents to share suggestions and ideas for summer camp. The ideas collected and the ideas implemented by shikshikas in few Balabharatis are compiled in the attached excel sheet. There are about 50 activities that came up, which can be conducted by parents and neighbours themselves for kids. We can continue to think in these lines for upcoming vacation periods, particularly summer of 2018.

Opening doors to values through BalaBharati
We did a special activity in Sarovar BalaBharati called-'Open doors to values through BalaBharati' and asked the children to share what they are learning in BalaBharati.They wrote their feelings in chits and put them in the value box. We will continue this till Balasangama event and open the door and see how much they have learnt.One of the girl suggested shikshika's to make their own box of values learnt through BalaBharati.
