Balabharati team shares with you the updates of the month.

In resources blog a new menu for Subhashita is added. Every month, we are getting a story in the last page with a Subhashita which accentuates the main story theme. Special activity in last week of the month:  In the Yojana, we can find mentioned suggestions for a special activity in the last week's Balabharati. In February, it was about FOOD ( Anna ). The idea was to involve more elders from the neighbourhood and have the kids interact with them and learn from them. In this regard, it was suggested to call elders ( eg. Grand mothers ) and request them to tell the kids about the importance of food, about praying before taking food, about remembering the giver of food with gratitude. Many centers did this innovatively and shared feedback.

 

Idea collection for Summer camps:  In March also, a similar activity is suggested where elders can come and talk to the kids about how they can utilize the vacation time fruitfully and enjoyably. Summer is a great time that kids get to spend with family in an informal way and they can learn many things from them. A separate mailer will also be sent to all to gather inputs about possible activities in summer camps, and availability of local resource persons ( mainly parents themselves offering their skills. Some help can be offered for arranging resource persons from other centers ). 

Bharatiya Khel:  

 

Many centers organized Bharatiya Khel, with guidance from IT Milan karyakartas. This is a special games activity where traditional Bharatiya games were played by all generations of residents in the reighbourhood. It included games like Lagori, Tyre race, Kho Kho, Kunte Billa etc. There was enthusiasm all around, and in many apartments where this special activity was done, the team of parents showed interest to start Balabharati also, and it has already started.

 

A list of centers where Bharatiya Khel was done ( as much information as collected till now ) and new BB centers given below along with other highlight events at center level. 

• Pariwar presidency BTM layout ( Jayanagar khand ) - Bharatiya khel practise session with Sankranti special get together. 
• SJR luxuria ( Arakere khand ) - Bharatiya Khel 
• Meenakshi classic ( HSR Khand )  - Bharatiya Khel
• Green Glen lyt ( HSR Khand ) - Bharatiya Khel 
• Sun city apartment ( HSR khand ) - Bharatiya Khel 
• DJRC Singasandra and LVC - Bharatiya Khel 
• Bhartiya Khel in multiple phases in HAL-BB.  BB Shikshika team trained the 20 volunteers.  More than 300 residents participated of all age groups. 
• Bharatiya Khel in Harsha Landmark (Horamavu), Sarovar, Kalpatharu Ittina Abby, Mahaveer in LB Shastri Nagar driven fully by BB parents.   

• Saroj apartment in LB Shastri Nagar did Bhartiya Khel for two successive Fridays and now continuing for younger children every Friday. 

• Sarovar BB shikshikas did pravaas to nearby apartment to  train resident bhaginis to conduct Bharatiya Khel. 
• Bharatiya Khel in Shriram Spandana apartment,  NAL. 

• Bhartiya Khel in Keerthi Gardenia, Thubarahalli
• Kethana Blossom Panathur organized Bharatiya Khel. 
• Bharatiya khel at NGV and ST Bed BB  centers both in Koramangala valay
• Purva Skywood BB shikshikas ( HSR Khand ) receited Vande Mataram in Vanavasi Kalyan program at Jayanagar. They have formed a team that can sing the National song in chorus
• SV Brindavanam apartment in Panathur valay celebrated Maha Shivaratri festival nicely. Balabharati team actively involved in the celebration. 
• SJR Spencer Balabharati did a special BB session with Bhajans and Prasad on Shivratri day.

Important note:  Inorder to be able to collect the news of important events in BB centers, the center pramukh shikshika/shikshaks are requested to send a mail to balabharati.blr@gmail.com  with the details of the event such as when , how many persons participated, what was the main theme, who all involved in organizing and any other details. This will help to report the same in the Monthly Updates email and in BB Magazine Hardcopy.
