A short essay on Shivaji Maharaj

I am sure you have heard about Chatrapathi Shivaji .he is the son of Jijabai and Shahji. He
conquered many forts at the age of 17.He made friends with the local boys and converted them into
great warriors. Shivaji 's constant victories over the Mughal Army startled Emperor Aurangazeb; he
named Shivaji the MOUNTAIN RAT. Once Siddi Johar attacked Panhala Fort in order to crush
Shivaji's army. But can they crush such a formidable force? So Shivaji sent his barber dressed in his
attire. When the Mughal Army caught him {the barber} he got scared and told that it was too late to
go after Shivaji for he had escaped Panhala Fort with his army long ago.

Once Emperor Aurangazeb invited Shivaji for his 50th birthday and insulted him. Shivaji was
enraged and he walked out of the assembly. After this he was put into HOUSE ARREST. Shivaji got
an idea. He pretended to be sick and told that he wished to send sweets to Brahmins, fakirs and
priests.

One day the sweet boxes carried something else-SHIVAJI and his son SAMBHAJI. After this Shivaji
ruled like a just and loyal king. His dream of an independent state finally came true. But he was not
destined to rule for long, he died after suffering for fever at the age 0f 40 years.

HE WAS A TRUE SON OF BHARAT.  JAI BHARAT MATA

An essay on Swami Vivekananda by Kaustubh, Komarla Brigade Balbharati

Swami Vivekananda - An Inspiration

“Arise , Awake and do not stop till you reach your goal” ... and may more such inspirational words
were given by Swamiji. Swami Vivekananda is such a great inspiration for not just the Indians, but
even for the whole youth of this world.

12th January 1863 became a great day in the history of the world as the birth of this great man
called as ‘Narendra” as he was called in his childhood days was born. A young man of great outlook,
athlete, a resonant voice, brilliant intellect, a scholar of philosophy and music and an undisputed
leader were some of the qualities within him. Don’t forget that I have told only ‘some’. Reason ??

He was one of the few who could convey his ideas in an effective manner with his great
communication skills. This he would do with his loving words , affectionate polite and pleasant
language and with full confidence .People may not be highly qualified or intellectual but understood
his ideas with his speeches.

Such was the talent present in Swami ji. Really great , isn’t it ? In the gathering of 7000 people which
he faced first time in his life, he had no fear in his eyes -> Be Strong , Be Fearless was one of his
teachings.

He addressed this by saying “Sisters & Brothers of America” and there was a huge applause from the
audience. The words of his speech was filled with the magic of “Love’. As Swamiji said “Love opens the most impossible gates, love is the secret of the world’. Swami Vivekananda was a great religious personality. According to him “The secret of religion lies not in theories but in practice. “To be good and do good” that is the whole of the religion. This is the reason why most of the religious youth of the world are inspired by him.

“My faith is in the younger generation, the modern generation, out of them will come my workers.
They will work out the problems like lions”. These were the words of Swamiji which shows his
expectations from the younger generation and inspires us to do our best until death.

Swamiji’s dream was to make Bharat a world leader again and for that he wanted us to be proud of
who we are, believe in ourselves, be strong, be fearless, and be ready to make sacrifices for our
country. Swamiji’s dream continues to live in every Indian.

So Arise , Awake and do not stop till you reach your goal i.e to make Swamiji’s dream of Bharat as a
world leader a reality.

Architectural beauty of Lepakshi

HAS ANYONE HEARD OF THE LEGENDARY LEPAKSHI, THE ONE WITH IMMENSE ARCHITECTURAL BEAUTY?  NO?! THEN COME ON I WILL TAKE YOU TO THIS BEAUTIFUL LAND….

Lepakshi, the wonderland of architecture, is located near the outskirts of Andhra Pradesh near Ghati
Subramanium. It is home to the Lord Veerabhadreshwara. It also has 1 floating pillar which goes
around 1 or 2 inches from the ground. When you enter the temple you find some pillars with dancers’
pictures drawn on them. The main dancer faces towards a stone, but behind it the teacher of the
dancers is there and he keeps dancing/teaching on the way. The Gods were so impressed by his
dancing, that they gave him one more leg for if one leg tires he can use the 3rd leg. On the other side
there is a carving of Matha Parvathi, Lord Shiva (who comes there as a beggar). Goddess Parvathi
serves everyone with food but lost in the devotion and love for Lord Shiva. So Lord Shiva wanting to
test her removed her sari, but she continued to serve food. Then there are paintings on the ceilings.
Outside there is a huge footprint, which is considered to be Matha Sita’s foot print. There is a story
behind this:-When the noble Jatayu tried to save Sita from the monster Ravana Sita pressed her foot
on a cliff. From there rose a water spring. Jatayu survived on this water until Lord Rama came. After
he came Jatayu told the whole story and died.

Near that there is a huge snake sculpture sculpted by sculptors in 30 minutes. There is a story behind
this also, 4 brothers all sculptors went to have lunch, but there mother told them to wait for some
time. After half an hour their mother called them for lunch, then she was stunned to see a he snake
sculpture.

This is our beautiful Lepakshi which has preserved by our ancestors for us to see….
Let us solve this mystery,
