Bharatiya Khel at DJRC - Jan 2017

Families at DJRC celebrated the spirit of Bharatiya Khel. It was Sun and Sweat on Sunday Jan 29 2017.  Children playing traditional Indian sports "Bharatiya Khel" along with their parents. The joy on children's face is seen by their gleam ear-to-ear when they team up with parents to fight it out. Two hours of playing Lagori(pittu) and kho Kho made a memorable day. These group games can be played with very little or no resources. These sports are played regularly at DJRC.

Sankranti, Kite flying at DJRC - Jan 2017

Parents and Children of DJRC Balabharati had a wonderful time organizing and flying kites during the Sankranti festival in Jan 2017. When the discussions started about the event, it created an excitement as parents were again indulging in their childhood favorite activity and also share that experience with the Children.  Balabharati kids started the preparations - with some making their kites, some shopping, learning the skill to tie knots (Kanna). The journey to the event was also as funfilled as the event itself. All the safety precautions were  taken care of.

On the designated day of 14th Jan 2017, everyone assembled, indulged in final preparations and started launching respective kites. Few experts among the parents were guiding the novices and rest.
As the kites started soaring high all the eyes were gazing upwards. Children took turns to learn handling, maneuvering and stabilizing the kites. This was not just an unique experience for many children, but also a great fun. They would not want to stop and were at it for hours. Balabharati's encourage many such outdoor activities.
