Special activity in last week of the month (as in September YOJANA) :
We just had Ganesha festival. Many centers conducted clay Ganesha making activity also. It may be a good opportunity to ponder over the origin of Ganesha and the symbolism involved in this festival. Such discussions with kids helps them to understand the meaning behind the celebrations and also make them experience the effect at and individual level and social level. But for this to happen, parents shall have to make the effort to discuss such ideas with them and be the 'communicator'. Through the special activity, let us try to bring this experience of learning from more elders in the apartment. Attached YOJANA second page has more details about this special activity.
Highlights of the month :
- New Balabharati started in SSVR apartment in Kundalahalli Khand
- New Balabharati started in Rohan Vasanta Apartment in Kundalahalli Khand
- New Balabharati started in Sai Garden layout in White field khand
- Making eco-friendly Ganesha out of clay by Kids was a special activity performed at many centers, Kethana Blossom, SMR Vinay Galaxy, Concorde Manhattan to name a few.
- SV Brindavanam ( Panathur) kids performed a skit on Ganesha
- Concorde Manhattan apartment BB team had conducted a very special celebration of Ganesh Puja by having kids bring their hand made clay Ganesh and having a samoohik PUJA program for kids, with kid doing Puja to his/her Ganesh. The mantras were explained to them and the scientific meaning behind the rituals/celebration was also conveyed. 100+kids participated. Enthusiastic response from parents also. Gifts of Amar Chitra katha books sponsored by well wishers in the apartment.
- Balabharati kids participated in Independence day celebrations by singing patriotic songs. Centers which shared news of I day celebration include Kethana Blossom ( Panathur) , NGV and ST Bed BB centers in Koramangala, HAL ( Tippasandra khand ) . Acas crescent BB Kids were dressed in costumes of Mahapurush personalities.
- Gowri apartment ( RT Nagar Khand ) conducted Janmashtami with kids displaying coloring of Krishna pictures, dressed in costume of Krishna and also story telling on Krishnavatar by kids. ( http://balbharati-kids.blogspot.in/2017/08/blog-post.html )
- At Purva skywood apartment ( HSR Khand), Kids sang Bhajan of Govinda. Dressed as different devotees they walked on stage offering flowers to Krishna idol ... Devotee names and brief information written on charts were displaced one by one . Gau Puja and Krishna Puja were done .. Kids fed cows and calf . They did Q&A on Krishna ( why he is blue , why wears peacock feather ,why loves cows etc with inner meaning explained by older kids ). Kids conducted quiz to audience based on Krishna life. Rasalila group dance was done. Fund was also collected by kids dressed as Gopa gopis.
- At Purva Skywood, for Ganesh chaturti, they did an event of telling Ganesha names with meanings by children while one child drew picture along . Shloka with meaning and dance was done . Unique Puja by kids which had a mixture of Chitra lekan-Sloka-mantra -arth and nritya was done.
- The craft activity NAMASTE cards was done with enthusiasm by kids of ST Bed Balabharati ( Koramangala )
- In addition to the above, the earlier weeks of August and late July saw some activities such as the following at our Balabharati centers.
- Concorde Manhattan ( E city ) conducted Yoga day special program for all house keeping staff and domestic help workers where in about 90 persons attended an hour long yoga session.Mothers of BB kids supported the program enthusiastically.
- Royal Hermitage (Gottigere) team arranged a Gurupurnima celebration for BB kids in presence of all elders. Kids were explained about Guru-Shishya parampara. The program also had 'vandan' to teachers living in the layout.
- Sarovar BB kids did an activity of writing PRANAM on peepal leaf and giving to their parents who are the first Guru for kids.
- Rakshabandhan was celebrated in many centers, with mothers involved in teaching kids to make their own Raakhi (Raksha). SNN Niladri(E-city) , Klassic Benchmark (Gottigere), Malnad Residency (Uttarahalli) , Kethana Blssom (Panathur) have sent photos of Rakshabandhan festival celebration.
Balasangama 2017 will be conducted in 3 places in Bengaluru, one for each of the three prakhands ( Jayanagar Prakhand, Mahalakshmipuram prakhand and Tippasandra Prakhand ). The date for all is SUNDAY NOVEMBER 12th, Time: 8:30 am to 4:30 PM . We shall be receiving the flyers and guidelines for preparation in the coming days. Lets contact our shikshika team and Balabharati pramukhs and partcipate actively and have a rich collective experience of the process of "samskar for kids"
